What is Wellness?
Wellness is the latest concept in preventive health care maintenance. What does that mean? It means that hospitals and health care providers are focusing on keeping you healthy instead of treating you after you become ill. It has been proven that this preventive maintenance lowers healthcare costs for everyone including the consumer, hospitals, and insurance providers, therefore lowering your insurance premiums.

What Types of Fitness Programs Are Available?
The medical center’s Physical Therapy Department will treat patients on an outpatient basis in a designated are of the facility. The Cardio Gym area contains treadmills, elliptical trainers, recumbent bikes and televisions. Members have access to a complete set of the most advanced nautilus and free-weight machines in the Weight Training area tailored to meet the needs of the beginner or the most experienced members. Members have access to Fitness Classes such as low-impact aerobics, yoga, and Pilates. The Sports Medicine aspect will allow members to have access to a Certified Athletic Trainer who can care for and prevent injuries. The Indoor Walking Track is available to members who enjoy walking in an indoor, climate-controlled, safe environment. Individualized Personal Training and Massage Therapy are available for additional fees.
What Personal Services does EMC Health and Wellness Offer?
The facility offers an initial Fitness Consultation to its members upon enrollment. Members who have children, age 6 months to 11 years, may utilize the child care services available in the KidZone during specified hours. Educational Classes are available that address common health concerns that affect our community, such as diabetes, congestive heart failure, arthritis and many other conditions. Towel Service and Lockers are also available to members at no additional charge.

CLASSES AND TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE
- Senior Fitness: Come join use for a fun filled low impact half hour of fellowship and exercise utilizing weights, chairs, and your body to get you in top shape every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning at 8:30 or 9:30.
- Core & More: Pump up your power house with a mix of Pilates and low impact aerobics every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 9:00. Your abs and gluts will love you!!!
- Extreme Stretch: Do you need to relax? Is your body overly tight? Come unwind and find your breath with a mix of Yoga and Pilates every Monday at 12:00.
- Work it Circuit: This is a total body workout you don’t want to miss. This class is a brake down of exercises 30 seconds to 2 minutes each utilizing light weights, steps, bands, and your body. Join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:00 p.m.
- Step, Pump, and Tone: Come try this quick lunch pick me up using steps, weights, and stability-balls, to help you build those beautiful lean muscles you crave. Step, Pump, and Tone Every Wednesday at 12:00.
- Extreme Strength: Are you looking to become leaner? Extreme Strength is the answer! This class combines the use of thera-bands, dumbbells, and body weight to offer a challenging resistance workout. Extreme Strength is great for everyone, especially beginners that are interested in adding resistance training to their workout. Offered Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 4:30.
- Basic Training: Begins with a 15 minute basic step routine for the beginner/intermediate exerciser. Proceeds to 15 minutes of resistance training with light weights excellent for strength/shaping, toning, and for those needing weight bearing exercises. A short abdominal workout on the stability ball follows. This workout concludes with a relaxing 15 minutes of head-to-toe stretching incorporating basic yoga positions. Great music! Will burn more calories than walking and guaranteed to be fun! Mondays and Wednesdays @ 5:30
- Fit-N-Firm: looking for a great way to burn calories and tone up? Look no further!! Fit –n- firm is an exciting blend of cardiovascular and resistance training that will keep you sweating. Come join the fun at 5:15pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
