Physical Therapy
The Rehabilitation Services Department at Evergreen Medical Center provides physical therapy to our inpatients, outpatients, and home health patients. We provide therapy to patients of all ages.

The most common pathologies and diagnoses treated by our department include:
• Orthopedic conditions (such as post op surgical patients, sprains, strains, fractures)
• Sports injuries
• Wounds and burns
• Pain syndromes
• Neurological disorders (such as strokes and traumatic brain injury)
• Age related de-conditioning
• Debilitating illnesses (such as arthritis)

Our physical therapists help individuals return to a more active lifestyle by:
• Relieving pain
• Promoting healing
• Increasing strength and range of motion
• Promoting increased independence with mobility and activities of daily living

It means that hospitals and health care providers are focusing on keeping you healthy instead of treating you after you become ill. It has been proven that this preventive maintenance lowers healthcare costs for everyone including the consumer, hospitals, and insurance providers, therefore lowering your insurance premiums.

What Types of Fitness Programs Are Available?

The medical center’s Physical Therapy Department will treat patients on an outpatient basis in a designated are of the facility. The Cardio Gym area contains treadmills, elliptical trainers, recumbent bikes and televisions. Members have access to a complete set of the most advanced nautilus and free-weight machines in the Weight Training area tailored to meet the needs of the beginner or the most experienced members. Members have access to Fitness Classes such as low-impact aerobics, yoga, and Pilates. The Sports Medicine aspect will allow members to have access to a Certified Athletic Trainer who can care for and prevent injuries. The Indoor Walking Track is available to members who enjoy walking in an indoor, climate-controlled, safe environment. Individualized Personal Training and Massage Therapy are available for additional fees.

What Personal Services does EMC Health and Wellness Offer?

The facility offers an initial Fitness Consultation to its members upon enrollment. Members who have children, age 6 months to 11 years, may utilize the child care services available in the KidZone during specified hours. Educational Classes are available that address common health concerns that affect our community, such as diabetes, congestive heart failure, arthritis and many other conditions. Towel Service and Lockers are also available to members at no additional charge.
