Quality Initiatives

The Performance Improvement Department of Evergreen Medical Center strives to provide a patient-focused environment of caring, cooperation, and efficiency. EMC promotes an organizational-wide commitment of delivering quality health care with continuous improvement activities in all clinical settings. One example of this commitment is our environmental rounds, or e-rounds, program. This monthly project involves members from all departments, clinical and non-clinical. The e-rounds program incorporates important safety standards, infection control practices, as well as accreditation standards.

The Performance Improvement Department also has a dedicated committee that consists of our Chief Executive Officer, Director of Nursing, Chief of Staff, Director of Risk Management, and the Director of Performance Improvement. Each department of the hospital is required to report monitoring, trending, and patterns identified as opportunities for improvement to the committee. The directors and employees of each department determine annually through research and past experiences what their department will monitor on a daily basis. With the employees who care for our patients deciding which issues are of concern, EMC can make great strides and improvements in the quality of services we provide to our patients and our community.
